AA4CC visiting several research labs at the US universities and Honeywell

Zdeněk Hurák, Martin Řezáč and Jirka Zemánek from AA4CC attended the 2011 IEEE Multiconference on Systems and Control (MSC) in Denver, CO, USA in late September. Then they set our for a two-week tour around three US universities, namely University of Texas in Arlington, University of California in Santa Barbara and University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. At each place they presented their research in the domains of distributed control of spatially distributed systems, distributed (micro-)manipulation and inertial stabilization to several control-related research groups. Namely

This tour was concluded by a visit and presentation at Honeywell research lab in Minneapolis upon invitation from Dr. Jan Jelinek.

Whether the whole three-week tour can be called a success remains to be seen in a few weeks or months, depending on whether some joint research ventures can be undertaken with the new colleagues. But certainly the visits to the top class groups were very inspiring and refreshing. On weekends, some time was left for hiking around too...
