Jiří Fejlek (FJFI ČVUT): Simulation based approaches to closed-loop optimal control

Abstract: The first part of our presentation will be dedicated to a dynamic programming approach to optimal control of nonlinear time-continuous systems using direct strategy evaluation in combination with policy iteration. The second part will be focused on our future ideas. Combining standard optimal control techniques (like direct numerical optimization) with formal verification tools and motion planning algorithms (RRT*) could provide a novel powerful device for finding optimal closed-loop control laws.
