Simulation and control of highway tunnels

The objective of this bachelor thesis was to study the basic principles of the ventilation and physical processes that influence exhaust pollutants in the highway tunnels. It was necessary to program the simulator of the exhaust pollutants concentrations and the suitable algorithm of the operating ventilation. This simulator was tested on two highway tunnels - Radejcin and Klimkovice. The Radejcin tunnel is under construction and will be equipped with air conditioning. It is important to simulate this tunnel for the different traffic situations before applying ventilation on the real system.
The company Spel a.s. can use this simulator during the realization of future tunnels.
