Utilization of Cyclic Alternating Patterns in Processing of PSG Recordings
Author: Kumpošt Vojtěch
This bachelor's thesis deals with utilization of hypnograms and cyclic alternating patterns (CAP) in processing of polysomnographic recordings. Both hypnograms and CAP represent useful tools used by experts for analysis of sleep and sleep disorders. The aim of this thesis is to show the significance of CAP in classification of sleep disorders. Based on the expert scores of sleep recordings was created a set of 69 parameters. 37 parameters were derived from hypnograms and 32 parameters were derived from CAP annotations. In the next part of the thesis were used decision trees and sequential feature selection in order to find the most significant parameters for four different sleep disorders. Furthermore individual feature performances were evaluated in order to gained additional information about significance of each parameter. For the purpose of this work were used polysomnographic recordings obtained from PhysioNet - The CAP Sleep Database available online at https://physionet.nlm.nih.gov/pn6/capslpdb/.
