In this paper a mathematical model of small hydro plant for the purpose of control design is developed. The bond graph method is used to obtain the model. It is an universal method for modeling of dynamic systems of various physical nature or their interconnection. Then an identification of the system is carried out, using parameters of hydro plant Brezová. The model is lineary aproximated in an operational point. Then the PI feedback controller and feedforward proportional controller are designed. In control designing the emphasis is placed on limitations, given by the need to be environment friendly. In the end an algorithm for distribution of water flow among the turbines is proposed . The main criterion is to run turbines with the highest efficiency possible.
