Inertial sensor network

The aim of this work was to realize a few nodes of an inertial MEMS sensor network composed of three-axis gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer. Each node contains an inertial measurement unit comprised of sensor and microcontroller, which calculates the absolute earth-relative position. Measured data from the sensor or the calculated position is possible to send via ZigBee wireless technology to a central sink. The device contains CAN bus which allows creating a wired network. This bus can also communicate with record unit that stores data on a memory card. The equipment is ready to connect another peripherals. The constructed hardware is designed to be used as mobile device.
