The purpose of this work is acquaint readers with problems of design and control of technological model. It is model of three parallel air elevators. Two of them are digitally controlled and one is analog controlled. Feedback of digital control is only from optical sensor placed at floors. The control is realized by digital output (up, down). Position freeze is due to quickly switching of output. Feedback of analog control is from ultrasonic sensor. The advantage of this solution is better position. Output value is analog too. We can use a PID controller. Model is connected to programmable logical controller Simatic 315-2DP from Siemens. Visualization is made in InTouch from Wonderaware.
