Diesel engine modelling and control
Author: Lanský Lukáš
The diesel engines play an important role in todays automotive world. The computer simulation of the processes in these engines is the key for reducing costs in the development of less polluting and more efficient combustion engines. The objective of the thesis is to model and control processes in the cylinder of the diesel engine. In the first part the detailed description of a Matlab-Simulink model of a cylinder is given. This includes the description of cylinders thermodynamics, geometry and mass flows, combustion process and engine performance. The second part of this thesis is focused on a design of a controller for the control of engines output torque. Several appropriate PI controllers and Hinf controller are suggested. The behavior of the closes-loop is then compared.
