This bachelor thesis describes mathematical principle of wavelet transform and de- monstrations of simple applications, which highlight its advantages in comparison with classical signal analysis like Fourier transform. The thesis starts with description of basic mathematical concepts which are indispensable for further exposition. Based on that the wavelet transform is built. At the end my bachelor thesis contains basic usage of wavelet transform in practical applications.
